Navigating college applications and paying for higher education can feel overwhelming—but that's where programs like QuestBridge come in. If you're a high-achieving, low-income student, this could be your golden ticket to a top-tier college education at little to no cost.
What is QuestBridge?
QuestBridge is a national nonprofit that connects academically outstanding students from low-income backgrounds with full scholarships to some of the best colleges in the United States. Their most well-known program is the National College Match, but they also offer support through college and beyond.
Why College Students Should Care
If you’re already in college and a QuestBridge Scholar, don’t stop tapping into the network! The benefits of being a QuestBridge Scholar don’t end after admission:
Lifelong support through internships, jobs, and mentorship.
Access to the QuestBridge Alumni Network, offering career development and a supportive community.
Opportunities to give back and mentor younger scholars.
Even if you didn’t match through QuestBridge, many colleges that are QuestBridge partners offer similar financial aid packages to students who meet the criteria—so it’s worth exploring!
For High School Seniors (and Freshmen in College Thinking Ahead)
The QuestBridge National College Match opens every fall.
You can apply to up to 50 top colleges like Yale, Stanford, Princeton, and more—for free.
If you match, you receive a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, room & board, books, and travel.
How to Prepare
Whether you’re applying or already in college, here are some quick tips:
Stay organized: Deadlines come fast! Mark your calendar.
Tell your story: Your essays matter. Be authentic.
Use the QuestBridge resources: Their Student Resource Center is packed with application tips and scholarship info.
Talk to your school counselor or advisor: They can help you navigate financial aid and opportunities even beyond QuestBridge.
