What is an entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is a person who starts, organizes, and runs a business, usually by spotting a problem or opportunity and creating a solution—often in the form of a product or service.
In simple terms: An entrepreneur takes an idea and turns it into something real, even though there’s risk involved.
Key traits of an entrepreneur:
• Innovative – comes up with new ideas or better ways of doing things
• Risk-taking – invests time, money, or effort without guaranteed success
• Problem-solver – focuses on fixing a need or gap in the market
• Independent – often works for themselves
• Persistent – keeps going despite challenges or failures
Examples:
• Starting a clothing brand
• Opening a food truck
• Creating an app
• Running an online business (Etsy, TikTok shop, etc.)
Types of entrepreneurs:
• Small business entrepreneurs (local shops, salons)
• Startup entrepreneurs (tech companies, apps)
• Social entrepreneurs (businesses that focus on helping society or the environment)
